LOGE Camps: Missoula, MT

Hand-painted murals

LOGE Camps is a hospitality group based on the motto "Live outside, go explore." This phrase perfectly fits the adventurous, outdoorsy person and fits nicely with the Walldog lifestyle of hand-painted murals.

Artwork, specifically murals, is a staple at all of LOGE's locations. The opening of their Missoula, MT location was no exception. With each establishment focusing on outdoor activities in that area, LOGE looks to amplify this message by highlighting local artists to help with their spaces.

For the Missoula location, LOGE commissioned artist Ariel Parrow to design two stunning images that would sit on the West-facing walls of the property. I was fortunate to be hired to paint the two pieces. One sits above the entrance to the parking lot and the other on the side of the cafe and bar. Both greet guests as they begin their stays.

While painting at this location, I missed a cold snap by about a week, with temperatures reaching negative 10 degrees Fahrenheit a few days before my arrival. During production over the subsequent 10 days, I enjoyed painting surrounded by mountains and the bustling city of Missoula. Thick fog in the mornings, trapped by the mountains, would burn off throughout the day to reveal blue skies and a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area.

This project was completed about a month before the doors opened to the public. If you're into the faultless pairing of outdoor adventure and art, I suggest you stay at one of the LOGE locations and enjoy the scenery with the wonderful people there.
